프로젝트 소개

우리 사회 ‘가족・공동체’ 관련 통계 개발원의 <국민 삶의 질> 종합지수는 10년 사이 악화했다. 지표의 일부 내용을 보면, 2008년과 2018년 사이 가족관계 만족도는 1% 긍정적으로 소폭 상승했지만, 독거노인 비율은 6% 증가하며 부정적 방향으로 향했다. 하지만, 통계 속 숫자 정보는 공동체의 복잡한 문제를 제대로 반영하지 못한다고 전문가들은 지적한다.
<한겨레>의 다큐멘터리 프로젝트 ‘OneVoice.Kr’은 숫자로 기표화된 한국 사회 51,709,098명(통계청, 2018년)의 다양한 사례를 통계 기사로 단순화시키기 보다, 통계 속 주인공인 우리 이웃의 소중한 이야기를 소리와 사진으로 엮어 전달한다.
경력단절 여성으로 ’시후 엄마’로만 불리다 스트레칭 강사로 복귀하며 이름 ‘강하나’를 되찾은 한 어머니,
세상에 ’망나니’가 더 필요하다고 외치며 패션에 학위는 필요 없다고 주장하는 패션사업가 연인,
여성 또는 남성으로 구분을 거부하는 젠더 퀴어 성소수자,
재즈의 특징인 ‘불협화음’처럼 공동체의 각기 다른 구성원들도 화합을 이룰 수 있다고 믿는 보컬리스트,
낙후한 탄광 지역 활성화를 위해 동아리 활동에 앞장서는 삼척여고 3학년 ‘탄광 소녀’ 등이 이 프로젝트의 주인공이다.

About the project

A composite index indicates that the quality of families and communuties has been deteriorated compared to a decade ago, according to the National Statistical Research Institute of South Korea. Given some part of the index, it is true that the satisfaction rate for family relationships has been increased by 1 percent between 2008 and 2018. But during the same period of the time, the rate of senior citizens facing isolation has been worsen by 6%. Pundits, however, share the view that the numbers in the statistics fails to reflect the reality.
OneVoice.Kr, Hankyoreh's new documentary projects, is to attempt to give a community real voice hidden in the stats.
This project includes stories of
-A stretching instructor, Hana Kang, who went through a seven- year career break after delivering a baby
-A loving couple of fashion entrepreneurs exclaiming the industry no longer wants fancy college grads but in need of “firebrands”
-A genderqueer who refuses the traditional gender perception
-A jazz singer claiming that the dissonance will be the answer
to today’s segmented society
-And a high school girl in a mining town leading the school volunteer club to be an impetus to improve the backward community.
